"Fast Food" Ideas

7/2/2014

My day goes much smoother and my brain functions much better when I have 2 or 3 of these ideas made up all the time.   One of the overwhelming things for me about eating Gluten Free was the prep time for making food, and I don't know about you, but if I get too hungry, I get cranky. Once I started making these, I was able to relax more and focus on the bigger food items.  They are definitely worth the little time they take to prepare. :)  These are not only easy to make, but fairly inexpensive as well, depending on the time of year.  The best part is the variations are endless so let your imagination run wild! :)

Tropical Fruit Cups:  Kiwi, Canned Pineapple and        Strawberries

Veggies Snack Bags:  Carrots, Celery, Sugar Snap Peas  and Grape Tomatoes

Trail Mix Snack Bags:  Raw almonds added to bulk trail  mix from Winco.
(Winco has a fantastic selection of different bulk trail mixes or individual nut options.)

Jello Snack Cups:  Lime and Raspberry
*My guys love Jello but I don't necessarily want them to have a tons of sugar all the time.  These are made once in a while. :)

If you have decided to go Gluten Free, and are staring blankly, and slightly hyperventilating about what that really means, You are in the right place. :)  I was doing just that about a year ago and see, I survived to tell about, and you will too.  Take a Deep Breath and exhale sloooowly. You can do this!  It is going to take patience and perseverance and a willingness to stand up for this life changing decision, but I promise your body will thank you.  My goal here is to help make your transition as easy as possible. You have picked a great time to go Gluten Free as the resources and product availability have never been better.  So, Take another deep breath, and let's get to it!
