Soups, Salsa and Salad Dressings

We visited FredMeyer on the corner of Overland and Five Mile today, and though Freddy's Gluten Free selection tends to be a bit smaller than other stores, we did come across some great finds. Today's highlight: Soups, Salsa & Salad Dressings

Amy's Brand (14.5oz cans. Sorry did not get a picture): Organic Split Pea in Regular, Low Fat, and Light Sodium; Organic Lentil Vegetable in Regular and Low Sodium; Organic Lentil, Organic Thai Coconut; Organic Rustic Italian Vegetable, Organic Summer Corn and Vegetable, Organic Chunky Vegetable; Organic Curried Lentil

Soups!

We found a great selection of Soups! Not all flavors are pictured but they will be listed by Brand.

Dr. McDougal's brand (18.3oz) both flavors are pictured to the left.

Pacific Brand: (17oz. pictured, all other flavors are 32oz )Organic Cashew Carrot ginger , Organic Creamy Butternut Squash in Regular and Light Sodium, Organic Red Pepper and Tomato in Regular and Light Sodium.

Imagine Brand (320z): Organic Creamy Broccoli, Creamy Portobello Mushroom, Creamy Tomato Basil, Creamy Potato Leek

Wolfgang Puck Brand (14.5oz cans): Organic Signature Tortilla (pictured), Organic Tomato Basil Bisque, Organic Free Range Chicken with White and Wild Rice

Broth!

Pacific Brand ( 320z): Beef, in Organic and Low Sodium; Vegetable in Organic and Low Sodium; Chicken (pictured), in free range Organic and free range Low Sodium

Imagine Brand (32oz): Free Range Chicken, and in Low Sodium; Vegetarian No-Chicken (pictured), in Free range Organic and Free Range Low Sodium

Mmmmm Salsa!

Treasure Valley Brand (16oz): Habanero and Lime (HOT!); Mild; and Salsa Verde *This Brand is also Locally Grown in Eagle, Idaho!

MI Elote Brand (16oz): Mild and Medium. The Medium was marked Gluten Free, but the Mild was not. I checked the label and they had the exact same ingredients so, I am thinking they both qualify :)

Amy's Brand (14.7oz pictured below): Mild and Medium

Salad Dressings!

Annie's Brand (8oz.): Cowgirl Ranch

Organic Ville Brand (8oz.): Organic, Non-Dairy Ranch

*Non Dairy option! I love it!

Weekly Try It! - "Imagine" Soup

One of my guys had the great idea to actual try an item or two each week from the category that we are highlighting. Brilliant right? Sooooo...drum....roll.....please.....the weekly "Try It" was born! :) Because it was their awesome Idea, and

because honestly, they are the toughest critics when it comes to making healthier food choices, I decided to let them choose which items we are going to try.

   This week, to my surprise, Imagine Brand Creamy Potato Leek soup, (purchased at FredMeyer) was chosen.  Not that I have anything against it, I just prefer food with a little more color. I'm thinking bland color, bland taste right?
Well thankful No! :) I was pleasantly surprised by it's yummy flavor! I added a few chopped up potatoes,   served it with a piece of buttered, Gluten Free toast, and it comfortably fed all five of us with a little left over.

    All 4 of my guys, although they did not absolutely love this soup, they did say that it was good and that they would like to eat it again. That in my house is a win!
*I'll give this a 4 out of 5 taste-buds for creamy goodness.
